Now that 2009 is here, it’s time to gear up for the second season of VFW Racing.
Once again, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Kevin Harvick Incorporated (KHI) have teamed up for another winning season.
The VFW Racing program is designed to raise awareness and support for VFW programs, as well as give active-duty troops across the nation the chance to experience the thrill of NASCAR.
“We are extremely excited about our 2009 VFW Racing schedule, visiting great venues such as Daytona International Speedway and Dover Speedway which is new to our schedule this year,” said Kevin Jones, VFW director of administrative operations. “Equally exciting is having another great opportunity with the KHI team to compete for the 2009 Camping World Truck Series Championship.”
NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick will be driving the VFW car in the Nationwide Series two times this year: in Daytona in July and in Charlotte in May. Ron Hornaday will be the Camping World Truck Series driver at the six other races where VFW will be a primary sponsor.
Here is a complete 2009 VFW Racing Schedule:
Camping World Truck Series—Driver: Ron Hornaday March 7—Atlanta May 29—Dover July 24—Indianapolis October 24—Martinsville November 6—Texas November 13—Phoenix
